A 7 year-old Lacombe student raises funds to buy 60 canes for Kabul Blind School in Afghanistan

Kalista Ziakris, a 7-year-old going into grade 2 at College Heights Christian School in Lacombe, AB., recently raised $600 to buy 60 canes for the children at the Kabul Blind School in Afghanistan. Freedom Run 5000 10k Walk/Run raised over $5000 (enough for one classroom) for girls education in Afghanistan. The run took place on Sunday June 27 with a total of 38 runners. Their ages ranged from 15 to sixty plus. You can vist their website at www.freedomrun5000.org //
